Shanna Reels, LCSW

Shanna Reels, LCSW, serves as the Director of Tribal Health and Social Services for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. In this role, she provides administration, oversight and direction for the tribally run Indian Health facility, Behavioral Health Services, Social Service department and other programs in through the administration of federal grants and contracts.

Previous work experience includes serving as Case Management Supervisor, Behavioral Health Therapist and Asst. Director of Tribal Health Services and working for the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services. Shanna is also starting her second term as a Board Member of the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Connecticut and was recently elected as a Board Member for the Child and Family Agency of Southeastern CT.

Shanna is a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) receiving her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University and her Bachelor’s in Native American Affairs at University of Connecticut. She has additional certifications as a School Social Worker, Perinatal Mood Disorder therapist and Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator (COSP) and currently carries a small caseload working in private practice capacity. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband and 3 children and cheering her children on at various sport games in the area.
